2010 Game to be Played Dec. 21 in Primetime

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. – ESPN Regional Television and the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg have announced that the 2010 Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg will be played Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 8 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field. The game, in its third year, will be televised nationally on ESPN, featuring a team from the BIG EAST against a team from Conference USA.

“We feel that a second straight season in prime time solidifies the status of the game,” said Brett Dulaney, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg executive director. “While we are looking ahead to just our third game, this is a sign of our rapid growth in the bowl lineup. The community support, and that of our new partner Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, will push us even further along. Having great partners, a prime-time slot and a great destination in St. Petersburg all give us a complete package for another exciting game.”

Last year’s Beef ‘O’ Brady’s St. Petersburg Bowl featured Rutgers of the BIG EAST against UCF of Conference USA. Rutgers prevailed 45-24. In the inaugural game in 2008, South Florida, representing the BIG EAST, defeated C-USA representative Memphis 41-14 at Tropicana Field.
