2012 NCAA Youth Football Clinic

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (June 20, 2012) – The Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg and the NCAA Football Youth Initiative will once again team up to host a free youth football clinic for boys and girls ages 5-14 from the Tampa Bay area.  The event will take place on Friday, July 20 from 9 a.m.- Noon ET at the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex in Clearwater (2450 Drew Street).  

The NCAA Youth Football Initiative partners college bowl games with NCAA Football to host a first-class event that teaches football fundamentals, character development and the importance of education to youth in the bowl community.
“We are proud to be able to bring the NCAA’s Youth Football Clinic once again this year to our community,” said Brent Dulaney, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg Executive Director.”The clinic provides a wonderful opportunity for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of football from the sport’s top coaches while promoting the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.” Football coaches from the staffs of the University of South Florida, University of Central Florida and Jacksonville University will lead the participants through a number of offensive, defensive and special teams drills.

Mike Alstott, the honorary chairman for the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg, will be the special guest speaker at the clinic.  Alstott was a six-time Pro Bowl selection during his 12-year career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“It’s going to be a fun and educational day for the youth in our community and we look forward to another terrific turnout,” added Dulaney.
