2015 St. Petersburg Bowl Set for Dec. 26

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (June 8, 2015) – The 2015 St. Petersburg Bowl will kick off on Saturday, Dec. 26, at 11:00 a.m. ET at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Owned and operated by ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN, the game will celebrate its eighth year and will be nationally televised on ESPN.

In the second year of the new conference affiliations for the St. Petersburg Bowl, the American Athletic Conference will face Conference USA (C-USA). The first year of the rotation had the American matched up against the Atlantic Coast Conference. In 2016, the ACC returns to meet up with the American.

“This will be our second consecutive year with a post-Christmas Day game and we look forward to building on the bowl week events we hosted for the teams and their fans,” said Brett Dulaney, St. Petersburg Bowl executive director.

The 2015 game will mark the fourth time since the bowl’s inception in 2008 that the game will be played on a Saturday. The previous Saturday games were in 2008, 2009 and 2013.

Tickets for the 2015 St. Petersburg Bowl will go on sale later this year and will be available through Ticketmaster or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
