ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (September 12, 2013)– The Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg has hosted five games since its inception in 2008 and 39 players who have appeared in past bowl games are currently in the National Football League (NFL). The 39 players are represented on 22 NFL teams with the New England Patriots roster leading the way with five of the players. “We’ve hosted hundreds of terrific student-athletes over the past five years and it’s great to be able to watch an NFL game and know there’s a strong possibility we’ll see at least one of these talented players,” said Brett Dulaney, Executive Director of the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg. Rutgers, which defeated UCF in 2009, has a bowl-best 12 players from that team currently in the NFL led by DB Devin McCourty (New England Patriots) and WR Mohamed Sanu (Cincinnati Bengals). UCF, which is the only team to appear in two Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl games, is next best with six players. Two of those six players, CB A.J. Bouye (Houston Texans) and RB Latavius Murray (Oakland Raiders) were in last year’s win over Ball State. The Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg is an ESPN Regional Television (ERT) owned bowl game featuring teams from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and Conference USA.
