(December 23, 2014) – NC State and UCF will commence the St. Petersburg Bowl activities with a special visit to patients at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 2:00 p.m. Players, cheerleaders and team mascots from both teams will spend time with the children, take pictures, sign autographs and provide memorabilia from the bowl and their respective teams. Additionally, Mike Alstott, former Tampa Bay Buccaneer and honorary game chairman, will join the representatives from the two schools. “When we started the bowl game seven years ago, Mike Alstott asked us to include a visit to All Children’s Hospital as part of the bowl week calendar,” said Brett Dulaney, Executive Director of the St. Petersburg Bowl. “We provide many fun events for the teams during their stay, but each year we hear from the players on how much they enjoyed the time they spend with these children.” “We look forward every year to a visit from the teams participating in the St. Petersburg Bowl,” said Roy Adams, Public Information Officer for All Children’s Hospital. “Since the bowl occurs over the holidays, the team members, cheerleaders and mascots always cheer up our patients and their families.” “Air Ambulance Worldwide works with All Children’s Hospital’s Critical Care Transport Team,” said Mark Jones of Air Ambulance Worldwide. “During this special time of the year we are especially proud to support the St. Petersburg Bowl and the Mike Alstott Foundation in sharing some gifts and joy with the children at All Children’s Hospital.” Media are encouraged to attend and cover the event.
