ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (December 19, 2015) - UConn and Marshall will kickoff the St. Petersburg Bowl activities with a special visit to patients at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Team captains, mascots, and two cheerleaders from each team will visit with the children, spreading holiday cheer, taking pictures, signing autographs and giving out memorabilia and gifts provided by ESPN/Disney and the two teams. In addition, Mike Alstott, former Tampa Bay Buccaneer and honorary game chairman, will join the representatives from the two schools. "When we started the bowl game several years ago, Mike Alstott asked us to include a visit to All Children's Hospital as part of the bowl week calendar," said Brett Dulaney, Executive Director of the St. Petersburg Bowl. "We provide many fun events for the teams during their stay, but each year we hear from the players on how much they enjoyed the time they spend with these children." "We look forward every year to a visit from the teams participating in the St. Petersburg Bowl," said Roy Adams, Public Information Officer for All Children's Hospital. "Since the bowl occurs over the holidays, the team members, cheerleaders and mascots always cheer up our patients and their families." The St. Petersburg Bowl will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. ET.
