Scott Glaser Named Executive Director of Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl

Scott headshotTAMPA, Fla. (August 22, 2019) - ESPN Events has named Scott Glaser as the new executive director of the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl. Glaser comes to the bowl from the University of South Florida (USF) where he’s worked for the past 19 years in athletics and most recently served as the associate executive director of the USF Alumni Association.   “We are thrilled to welcome Scott to our team and are excited for the continued growth of the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa,” said Clint Overby, vice president of ESPN Events. “Scott’s leadership and knowledge of the area will serve our business well in working with our key stakeholders in creating an experience that celebrates the student athletes while providing a first class experience to fans and the broader Tampa Bay community.”   “I am truly excited to join the ESPN family and build upon the strong foundation already in place at the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl,” said Glaser. “My approach is going to be ‘Together we can do more!’ This means the more people care, the more they support us, the more they participate, the more they attend, the more they promote, and the more we can make an impact in the Tampa Bay community.”   Glaser has deep roots in the Tampa Bay area, especially in the sports realm. The Chicago native grew up in Brandon (Fla.), where he was a star pitcher for Brandon High School. He went on to play at USF (1995-99) where he still holds the school record for career wins (34). He was drafted by the New York Yankees as a junior in 1997, but returned to USF to earn his degree and then signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Glaser played one year for the Hickory Crawdads in the South Atlantic League before returning to USF to work in the athletic department where he worked his way up to Senior Associate Athletic Director. Among his responsibilities were home game administrator for the football team -- dealing with all aspects of the gameday experience at Raymond James Stadium and working in coordination with the Tampa Sports Authority.   Glaser and his wife Carla reside in Lithia (Fla.) with their son Trey and daughter Kara.
