Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl Scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 26

TAMPA, Fla. – The Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl has been awarded a Saturday, Dec. 26, Noon ET kickoff for its 13th annual game to be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa (Fla.). The game, which is owned and operated by ESPN Events, a division of ESPN, will air on ABC for the first time after being broadcast on ESPN since its inception.

 

“Having a weekend game date, that’s also the day after Christmas, should be well received by potential attendees, as well as the many families across the country who will be home together watching on TV,” said Scott Glaser, Executive Director of the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl. “We’re also thrilled that our new title sponsor, Union Home Mortgage, along with our other key stakeholders will have a terrific opportunity for maximum exposure of their brands with the Saturday afternoon kickoff on ABC.”

 

Over the years the bowl has hosted 16 different schools representing seven conferences. Last year, UCF rolled to a 48-25 win over Marshall.
